Connect ZenMode to Meta Muse (MCP): ask about your campaigns from a chat

Add ZenMode to Meta Muse as a custom connector with your API key or by signing in, then ask about your campaigns, contacts and conversations.

What this integration is

ZenMode has a remote MCP server. Muse, Meta's AI agent, can connect to it as a custom connector, so you can ask about your ZenMode account in a chat: how your campaigns are performing, who a contact is, what was said in a LinkedIn conversation.

Server address: https://www.zen-mode.io/api/mcp

It is the same server and the same tools as the Claude guide, which lists every tool and its limits. Muse is available in the US and Canada only.

The safety rule

An AI assistant cannot send a message or a connection request through ZenMode. There is no tool for it. The only way anyone gets contacted is by being added to one of your campaigns, and the campaign then works through them inside your daily and weekly limits, your business hours and your pacing.

Every connection is read only unless you choose otherwise. A key that is set to read only keeps the connection at read only, whatever you pick on the approval page. With a connection that allows changes, an assistant can create a campaign (always paused) and start it only after showing you a summary and getting your yes. Starting a campaign contacts nobody at that moment: it runs later, inside your limits and business hours, and only while the ZenMode desktop app is open.

Before you start

  1. You need a ZenMode plan of Practitioner or above (a free trial counts as the plan you are trialling). Novice accounts are told so with an upgrade link.
  2. Create an API key under MCP / API in the dashboard, and leave Let AI assistants make changes unticked unless you want Muse to be able to add people to campaigns or change targeting.
  3. A Muse account in the US or Canada. Meta decides which accounts can add custom connectors, and it can change that.

Connect with your API key

This is the simpler route if Muse offers a field for a request header.

  1. In Muse, add a custom connector. Meta's help page says Muse guides you through it; ask Muse to add a custom connector if you cannot find the option.

  2. Name it ZenMode and enter https://www.zen-mode.io/api/mcp as the server URL.

  3. Add a request header. The header name is Authorization. The value is the word Bearer, one space, then your ZenMode API key:

    Bearer zm_your_key_here

Without the word Bearer and the space, ZenMode refuses the key.

The connection can do exactly what the key allows: a read-only key gives a read-only connection.

Connect by signing in to ZenMode

If Muse asks you to sign in instead, it opens a ZenMode page. Sign in if asked, choose Read only, choose the API key to connect with, and click Allow. ZenMode accepts Muse's sign-in only at Muse's own return address; if Muse reports that ZenMode refused the app's registration, use the API key route above and tell us at hello@zen-mode.io.

Example prompts

  • "Use ZenMode to show how my campaigns are doing this month. Which one has the best reply rate?"
  • "Use ZenMode to find the contact Priya Shah and show where she stands."
  • "Read my ZenMode conversation with Priya Shah and draft a reply I can send myself."
  • "Check this connection note with ZenMode before I use it: ..."

Limits

Each API key can make 60 tool calls a minute. If the connection allows changes, they are capped at 10 a minute and 300 a day, and at most 500 people a day can be added through an assistant. These are the assistant's own call limits; your LinkedIn daily and weekly limits are separate and are applied by your campaigns, as always.

FAQ

Can Muse send LinkedIn messages or connection requests through ZenMode?

No. No ZenMode tool does that. With a connection that allows changes, Muse can add people to a campaign, or start a campaign after you say yes, and your campaign reaches them later under your daily and weekly limits, business hours and pacing.

Which ZenMode plans include the MCP server?

Practitioner and above, the same as the ZenMode API. A free trial counts as the plan you are trialling. Novice accounts are told so with an upgrade link, and their API keys are kept so they work again as soon as the account moves up.

Can Muse see my teammates' campaigns?

No. It sees only the account that owns the API key it connected with. Workspace members' campaigns are not reachable, even for a workspace owner.

How do I disconnect Muse?

Remove the ZenMode connector in Muse, or revoke the API key in the ZenMode dashboard. Revoking the key ends the connection straight away, whichever route you connected with.

Does it need my LinkedIn password?

No. ZenMode never asks for LinkedIn credentials, and nothing in this connection touches them.
