Best We-Connect Alternative in 2026: ZenMode
Switch from We-Connect to ZenMode: desktop-first LinkedIn automation with no cloud proxies, flat pricing from $15/mo, and 14-day free trial.
Read more →Every comparison of LinkedIn tools eventually reduces to one question, and it is not about features: where does the software run, and what does it need to hold in order to act as you? Answer that first. It sets your baseline risk before you have written a single message.
There are three architectures on the market, and each has an honest trade-off.
Cloud platforms run on the vendor's servers. Expandi, Dripify and HeyReach work this way, and Waalaxy moved fully into its web app on 1 July 2026, retiring the Chrome extension it used before. A server acting on your behalf needs a way into your session — Expandi and Dripify ask for your LinkedIn password, HeyReach offers either credentials or a copy of your session cookie — and it needs an address to send from, which is why these tools assign a proxy. The upside is real: your campaigns keep running with the laptop shut.
Browser extensions run inside Chrome on your own machine, acting on the session you are already logged into, so no password changes hands. Dux-Soup's Pro and Turbo plans work this way and, in the vendor's own documentation, stop when the computer is off or asleep. Its Cloud tier is a different architecture under the same brand.
Desktop apps run on your computer and your own IP. Linked Helper 2 is a standalone program with its own browser engine rather than an extension, and ZenMode is a desktop app too. Nothing sits on someone else's infrastructure, but the machine has to be awake to send.
Account-ban risk first, then features, then price. A tool that gets your account restricted has no features. Start with our roundup of the main LinkedIn outreach tools for the landscape, then read the same tools ranked by account-ban risk.
After that, go to the page for the tool you already pay for: switching away from Expandi, how Dripify compares, what changes when you leave Waalaxy, HeyReach for multi-account senders, Dux-Soup's browser model against a desktop app, or our Skylead comparison. Each one is straight about where the other tool is the better buy.
