Three small tools for people who write on LinkedIn every day: a character counter that knows every limit LinkedIn publishes, a post formatter that shows how your text will read in the feed, and a calculator that turns what LinkedIn says about invitation restrictions into a sending pace. All three are free, none of them asks for an email address, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

They exist because the numbers that circulate about LinkedIn are mostly second-hand. Most character-limit lists repeat each other, and a good share of the figures in them appear on no LinkedIn help page at all. We checked each one against LinkedIn's own documentation. Where LinkedIn states a limit, the tool cites the page it comes from and quotes it. Where two LinkedIn pages disagree, which happens more than you would expect, the tool shows both figures with both sources and counts against the lower one. Where LinkedIn publishes nothing, the tool says so plainly, shows the figure everyone else repeats, and labels it unverified. That includes the profile headline, the About section and comments on feed posts: none of those has a limit stated anywhere on LinkedIn's help site, however confidently other pages quote one.

Everything runs locally. The pages are static, the counting and formatting happen in your browser, and there is no request to our servers when you paste or type. That also means the tools work on a draft you are not ready to share with anyone, including us.

If a limit changes, the sources on each page are the place to check. We record the date we last read each LinkedIn page and will update the figures when LinkedIn does.
